We are truly pleased with the good work of Light Bangladesh in making their part of this world a better place, by giving some of the least and most marginalized people a chance to a make a good, worthy and honorable life for themselves. This is a project worth supporting, a work after God's own heart as the Bible says: "Pure, unspoilt religion, in the eyes of God our Father, is this: coming to the help of orphans and widows in their hardships." We are happy to support LB and wish you much strength and inspiration in your efforts.

God will sustain Light Bangladesh

When we visited Khulna in 2007, the Alingon home was still a dream unrealised. We saw an empty, bare apartment, and the girls still living in the brothel area. Now, less than two years later, we hear reports and see pictures of these girls, happy and radiant in their

safe home. It is a real joy!

We are grateful to be part of this work and pray that God will sustain Light Bangladesh for future important contributions to the lives of His precious, suffering people in Bangladesh.

About Our Friends

Our another cheerful partner friend Pastor Torsten Åhman from Vårgårda Sweden. Who continually is helping us from our start of Progoty program at Mongla.

Two friends from Sweden are helping us tremendously. They prepare hand-made items and arrange to sell it in Church congregation and the collections are sent directly to the program. When they visited the kids, it had special impact on the kids to have a self worth. Their friendships was more visible to them that brought hope, hope for better life.

There are some other friends who are extending their helping hands by their prayer and time. it helps the kids to feel that they are also loved by real people.

We are thankful to all our cheerful partners and would like to let you know that “thank you so much for being with us”

Support delivered for the Cyclone Aila victims

Light Bangladesh in a joint effort with Ashirbad (a program of Bangladesh Assemblies of God Church), distributed food items, drinking water, water purifying tablets and oral saline to the victims of the Cyclone Aila residing at the Mongla brothel. The support was distributed on June 06, 2009 with the aid of the local authority. Members form Light Bangladesh and Ashirbad joined the program and made it a overwhelming success. The beneficiaries were very happy to get the support, especially with the drinking water, water purifying tablets and dry food. One of the beneficiaries said “it is good that you bring the dry foods so that we can stock and eat proportionately till we find more source for food. And the water purifying tablets will save us from many easy diseases, specially will save the children."

Support was distributed among 200 victims. Although it was not enough for them to live until they find work and live on themselves again, it was definitely a relief for the moment. The acute shortage of drinking water forcing them to drink salty water, which in turn will create water borne diseases. Light Bangladesh distributed enough water purifying tablets along with fresh water and water container to keep them safe until they can have a safe source of water.

The next step is to support the victims to build their houses. LB is presently collecting funds from different resources to donate to the victims in building houses. You can contribute to the support program with "whatever-you-have" or just spreading the news and with your prayers. Thanks for being with us.

Living Support to 'Aila' victims at the Mongla Brothel

Answer to our prayer for emergency help:

200 effected families by the cyclone ‘Aila’ in Mongla Brothel will get some emergency living support by Light Bangladesh collaborated with Bangladesh Assemblies of God Church Khulna branch. The support for each family would be as follow:

Chira (dried rice)	:	5 kgs
Sugar	:	1 kg
Water	:	5 liters
Saline	:	5 packs
Water purifying tablet	:	10 pieces

The support will be distributed on Thursday, June 4, 2009. Right now the identification processes of the families are on process.

Cyclone Aila hit Light Bangladesh Mongla project

Cyclone Aila hit Light Bangladesh Mongla project. One children from the project is reported dead and all others are homeless. The registered kids at the project Progoti are now living in cyclone shelters.

Commitment Letter Recieved

LB has received the promised commitment letter to be submitted along with the budget to show the funding is available. Thanks to all the Patrons of LB for their continued support. We still need to raise more fund for this organization. Please continue to pray!

Budget for 2009-2010

Budget for the Light Bangladesh for the financial period of April 2009 to March 2010 is now prepared. The budget has been submitted to NGO Bureau of Govt. of Bangladesh for approval and if approved will be implemented. The Finance team worked hard, day and night to finish the tough task on time. Thanks for all your prayers. Please continue to pray for the approval.
